Incoming Freshman

You are a freshman applicant if you are currently attending high school, home-schooled, or you received a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Individuals having earned 24 semester hours or less from a regionally accredited college or university must meet freshman requirements as well. Graduate Student
Visiting Students
Visiting students are undergraduate students currently enrolled at another college/university who wish to enroll in one or more courses at Chicago State University during the summer but who do not intend to continue their undergraduate education at CSU in the fall. All visiting students must apply and be admitted for the summer term before they can register for classes.  

Undergraduate student-at-large applicants are individuals who are not currently enrolled at another college/university, do not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, and do not wish to earn a degree from Chicago State University, but they want to take courses for personal or professional development or to take a few courses while deciding whether to apply to a degree-granting program here at CSU.

Visiting students and students-at-large are not eligible for financial aid. Learn more about how to apply as a visiting student or a student-at-large.

International Students
International applicants are individuals who are citizens or permanent residents of a country outside of the United States. Chicago State University will sponsor nonimmigrant alien students studying on an F-1 visa. Applicants are required to submit academic documentation and proof of financial support before being considered for admission. Learn more about how to apply as an international student.
